Why Leave a Legacy?
Leaving a gift to us in your will would ensure that we continue to make Christ known to children and young people in the future. Every legacy makes a difference, no matter how large or small. We are so very grateful to everyone who has already pledged in this way.
Types of Legacy
A Residuary Legacy is a share or percentage of your estate after all other gifts and debts have been paid. This type of gift is easy to add to an existing will and it doesn’t interfere with any specific sums you may have left to family and friends. Also it is less likely to be eroded by inflation over the years.
A pecuniary or cash legacy is a fixed sum of money, the value of which could decrease over time through inflation, unless it’s linked to the Retail Price Index.
A specific legacy is leaving a particular asset such as shares, property or personal possessions.
A reversionary gift allows you to leave your estate to dependants while they are living, but on their death it will pass to ‘Foundation Matters’ (Charity No.:1107662).
In Memory Gifts
Also, please don’t forget “In Memory” gifts. You can specify that if anyone wants to make a donation in your memory, it should be to support the work of ‘Foundation Matters’ (Charity No: 1107662). This can be a good way to celebrate your life and the values you hold dear.
